any deployment.

The same underlying process we use across the engineering work, adapted to a sensor deployment rather than an audit: assess, deploy, integrate, analyse, keep watching.

01 · Site assessment
A walk of the site against a floor plan, establishing what is worth measuring and where the existing controls already answer the question. We do not instrument what a BAS already trends properly.
02 · Sensor deployment
Wireless hardware placed and commissioned, mapped to zones and equipment rather than to serial numbers.
03 · Platform integration
Devices onto the cloud platform, with the floor plan behind them so a reading has a location and not just an identifier.
04 · Data analytics
Thresholds, alarms and trend review. The first month is usually where the site learns what its own normal actually looks like.
05 · Ongoing monitoring
Continuous visibility, with the alarm going to a person rather than into a record nobody opens until something has already failed.

Before the deployment, temperature readings were taken by hand for compliance. That leaves no visibility overnight and no way to catch a unit drifting between checks — a problem surfaces as a spoiled-product loss or a compliance gap, which is to say after it has already cost something. Continuous monitoring closed that window.

These three figures are the operator's own post-deployment reporting. They are not IPMVP-verified savings and carry no stated measurement basis or confidence interval, so they should be read as an indication of the direction rather than as a number to underwrite against. Where we publish verified savings — on our audit and optimization work — the method and the uncertainty are stated with them.

FAQ

Common questions.

Often you should not. Where a BAS already trends a point reliably, we use the BAS. Q-Smart is for what the BAS was never wired to: walk-in refrigeration, tenant floors, remote buildings on a portfolio with no controls at all, and anything where running new cable costs more than the measurement is worth.

That the deployment does not decay. The usual failure mode of a wireless sensor programme is not the sensors — it is that after eighteen months a third of them are flat, the data has holes in it, and nobody trusts the dashboard any more. Battery life is the difference between a monitoring system and a monitoring project.

Yes, and it is usually the right way round. A first deployment on one building tells you what the data is actually worth to your operation before the same decision is made fifty times.

You do, and we do while we are engaged. Access is per-site and per-user. Building measurement data is commercially sensitive — occupancy in particular — and it is treated that way. Our privacy policy covers how we handle what we hold.
