We are a small engineering firm, which means the person who writes the report is the person who took the readings, sized the measure, watched it get installed and signed the verification at the end. There is no analyst tier producing work that somebody more senior presents.

We hire when we meet the right person more often than we hire against a requisition. Send a CV and a paragraph about a building you found something in — what you measured, what you concluded, and what you would have done differently.
Fieldwork first,
then the model.
Most of our engagements start in a mechanical room with clamp-on instruments and twelve months of utility bills. If you would rather calibrate a model against a real meter than build one from a schedule of assumptions, the work here will suit you.
Energy engineers
ASHRAE Level I–III auditing, utility baseline regression, RETScreen calibration and eQUEST whole-building simulation. P.Eng or EIT, CEM welcome.
Controls & commissioning
BAS sequence review, trend analysis and recommissioning. If you can read a week of trend data and see the fault in it, we want to talk.
Project managers
Retrofit delivery in occupied buildings, contract administration on grant-funded work, and the reconciliation discipline that keeps a CMHC file auditable.
What you should
know first.
Stated plainly, because the mismatch usually shows up in month three rather than at the interview.
- You will be on site. Not every week, but the job is not a desk job. Mechanical rooms, roofs in February, and buildings that are occupied while you work in them.
- You own a file end to end. The audit, the design, the contractor conversation and the verification are one person's responsibility, supported rather than supervised.
- Numbers get checked. A model is not accepted until it reconciles against billed consumption. Savings are reported under IPMVP with the confidence interval attached. If a figure cannot be defended, it does not go in the report.
- Small firm, real consequences. Our work releases grant money and certifies payments on funded projects. That is good for the standard of the work and it does mean deadlines are external, not internal.
- Toronto-based, work across North America. Head office at 100 King Street West. Projects in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec today, and expanding into the United States, with travel that comes in bursts.
What to send.
A CV, and one page about a building. Not a cover letter about us — a description of something you measured, what it turned out to be, and what it cost to fix. That tells us more than a list of software you have opened.
